car stereo review Wahoo Fitness Cycling Cadence Sensor

Wahoo Fitness Cycling Cadence Sensor

I just installed this little device to replace my Cateye computer with cadence. Install was easy but I do have a few tips:

1. It comes with a rubber band and zip ties to secure it and the instructions say to use either, your choice. Based on one of the reviews on here where the person secured his with the rubber band and lost it I used both. Its not really designed for it but if you put it on with the rubber band, get it where you want it you can fish the zip ties through.
2. If you have never removed pedals before the left side (the side you need to take off) is most likely threaded opposite of the right side so you need to turn it clockwise to loosen it.. They are most likely very tight so it may take some leverage to get it loose. Be careful not to cross thread putting it back on as the cranks are most likely aluminum and the steel pedal threads will easily strip the crank threads.
3. If you have trouble getting it to work (I did) first download the Wahoo Utility App which can read the signal without pairing it in an app. You have to wake up the sensor and they say to turn the crank to do so. For me that didn't work and after checking the battery I found that spinning the rear wheel woke it right up and then both sensors read fine and worked in all apps I tried. Also this doesn't pair like a normal bluetooth device, just make sure its on and then look for the device in whatever biking app you use.
If you have an iphone 5 and are looking for a good bike mount I also bought the ibikeconsole one. I'm really impressed with it so far, it has a good combo of protection and port access and is cheaper than some of the other options I found.
