Arkon GN047 Removable Swivel Garmin

This little gadget is very good. I originally bought Garmin's standard bean bag. Although it worked well and it was very stable, it was also very bulky. My dash is very short, so there was not much space to put it on the dashboard. So I bought this instead. The package it came in was super cheap (just a plastic bag), and the plastic on this item feels very cheap, but it provides surprisingly stable base for GPS. It puts GPS in a perfect position to look, and touch and still give me some air from the vent. Since this attachment probably can be made very cheaply if Garmin decided to include this in every GPS they sell, I don't know why they don't do that. For those who has to use a beanbag or suction cup would use a beanbag or suction cup anyway. This is a way better solution than their included suction cup style holder. No sticky adhesives. If you are thinking about getting this, and if you have normal horizontal vent slats, get this attachment, you won't regret it. And it's CHEAP!!

Very east to use, extremely portable. It came as 3 parts- I had to assemble the 2 clips. Later I realized it was actually a wonderful feature: I can take it apart and squeeze it into my limited suitcase space- no need to worry about breaking it. When using it, just need a bit practice of putting it up to the vent and taking it off, I don't think it did any damage to my vent. The adjustable foot has a felt pad that also prevent scratching. The vent position is perfect for the driver to handle the GPS, way easier than the windshield mount or dash mount. Now I use it all the time even though I just spent almost $30 for the dash friction mount. Highly recommend it!

This is perfect for any vehicle. I drive a 2006 BMW. And placing it in the vent makes it very easy for me to type on the touch screen and watch while driving. It slides in and out of the vent with ease! This is one of the best products I purchased in a long time for the cost.

Way cheaper on Amazon than on Ebay...I wanted a mount that would be inexpensive and not attract attention like the windshield suction cup holder. I also didn't like the look of the dashboard beanbag mount because it looks like crap. The vent mount is inexpensive and my field of vision isn't impaired like it was with the windshield suction cup. Plus it is now a ergonomically closer for me to use the touchscreen with than before. It won't fall off periodically like the suction cup mount as well.

This vent mount is very useful, provided that your car has a suitable vent- this means the vent must be located suitably to accommodate the GPS unit, and the slats on the vent must be horizontal.

I found the mount was very easy to use with my Nuvi 760. It was easy to attach to and detach from the vent. Also, it was straightforward to attach the GPS unit. There is an adjustable leg on the mount which helps to secure the mount to the vent in a stable fashion.

Some people may prefer this mount to the windshield suction cup mount.

Also, this mount is useful in places where windshield mounts are not permitted (e.g. California).

I used the mount with various rental cars while touring- it was equally successful in each car (the cars I used it in were 2008 Chrysler Sebring, 2008 Chevrolet Trailblazer, 2008 Jeep Liberty and 2007 Toyota Solara).

It was sufficiently stable to allow for the GPS unit to be used while attached to the vent.

It works pretty well, as long as it fits the vents on your car. I am using it on my 2005 Mazda3. My vents are tilted back a little, so the fit is not perfect. It took me a while to set the mount the first time I used it. Also, it does not fill completely solid; it moves slightly when I am going over a bump, or touching the screen (it may work better on the cars with less tilted vents). I have been using the mount for over a month, and it has never fallen off the dashboard. So, in my opinion, this mount is good alternative to the windshield suction cup that comes with the GPS, which is constantly fallen off in the summer time. Also, the vent mount is much cheaper and smaller then friction mounts, which I was thinking of getting before I noticed this vent mount.

I live in CA so windshield mount is not allowed and i did not want any sticky disc on my dashboard so this vent mount would be my other option.I've looked at different vent mounts and this one looked pretty simple and straightforward. Was just worried it may not work for my 660 because of it's weight and might easily break but the whole mount looks sturdy. Installation and removal is easy. When mounted on my vent i like the placement and it makes it easy to access the Nuvi. I was skeptical at first that the Nuvi might jump around, rattle or come loose but it was steady and firm when i tested and drove my car around. I even intentionally ran some speedbumps and did some quick turns to see if it will rattle but it held it's place and did not even move. Can't wait to try it and test it even more but i think overall i'm happy with the fitment and works the way i expected it to be.

I didn't like any of the other mounting options available. This set-up keeps my GPS below the windshield and dash and does not interfere with my line-of-site while driving. The unit is perfectly placed in the mid-upper dash area just like a built-in, factory system. Very clean and uncluttered. The mount hold the GPS reasonably steady and secure, swivels so that a passenger can use it, and is easy to install and remove. Perfect solution and great price.

I've had this device for almost six months and it's been my guide (along with my GPS) to Vegas, LA, San Diego, San Luis Obispo, San Francisco, Santa Cruz, and back! I bought it for my BMW 325ci and it fits perfectly. My dad know wants one, too! It works on his Honda Pilot. We've tried it. Very stable, doesn't damage vents, and is very sturdy. I highly recommend this since you can easily detach it from your vents without sticky tape or any other harmful adhesive that may damage your car.

This is the perfect answer for a mount for our Garmin Nuvi 760: no suction rings on the window, no bulky dashboard beanbag. It mounts easily in the vent to the right of the steering wheel, a perfect location. Works with Lexus SC430 and several rental cars we've used. The mount easily detaches from the vent and is small enough that you can easily put the GPS, attached mount and cord into the glovebox when you're away from the vehicle.
